Phase III: Political Endorsements.
Below are the names and addresses of our Upper Peninsula state senators and
representatives. We will need their support to elevate the Amorous Spotted Slug to State Slug status. Once S.L.I.M.E. Headquarters has S.N.O.T. chapters in place and a significant number of media endorsements, we will petition our leaders to designate the Amorous Spotted Slug as the official State Slug. (Most political leaders are reluctant to lead until their followers are well out in front.) As our leaders endorse the Amorous Spotted Slug, we will change their tab status to green.
At the request of Toivo Rantamaki, Professor Emeritus of Finlandia University, S.L.I.M.E. Headquarters has added members of Marquette City Commission to our political hit list. Professor Rantamaki recently discovered a breeding colony of Amorous Spotted Slugs in Marquette’s Presque Isle Park and would like to designate the park an Amorous Spotted Slug preserve where A.S.S. can play freely, and tourists can bring their children to see Amorous Spotted Slugs in their natural habitat. It would be the first such park in the nation. We only need the support of four city commissioners to make this a reality.
